Lost in Paradise” is about resilience and exploring our own ways to overcome difficulties in life. 

 
 

Let me tell you where it all started for me. I was in Singapore in a beautiful apartment, with a fulfilling job and a great network of colleagues and friends. One day I lost my job and I felt lost in paradise. I started a long journey that took me from doubting myself, suffering from the impostor syndrome, and feeling vulnerable, into accepting the situation, letting go of control, and preparing myself for the next chapter of my life. 

 
My starting point was Brene Brown’s first thing problem-solving approach - Name it: “I lost my job”, Bring perspective to it: “You are not alone, there were 150,000 redundancies in Singapore alone during the biggest global pandemic”, and Do a reality check: “You have started from scratch before, what did you do to make it happen?”. 

 
It was time to move out of Singapore and start a new life in Europe. New beginnings, Resourcefulness, and a Sense of Growth are heavily present in my life and I would love to share my learnings with you. 

 

 

About Silvia

Silvia defines herself as a socially creative leader with strong storytelling and analytical skills. Silvia has accrued over 20 years of experience in research, consumer insights, and brand strategy, developed while living in Barcelona, London, Singapore, and Madrid, working for communication, consultancy, and research agencies. In her portfolio, she managed brands including LEGO, Unilever, Diageo, and Danone. Her colleagues see her as an enthusiastic, resourceful and insightful partner. 

 
Her background as a journalist comes in very handy; it helps with storytelling, being concise, well-structured, and thorough with the supporting research for her speaking engagements. With the aim to continue learning, drive personal growth, and better support those around her, she successfully completed “Core Curriculum” Coach Training by the reputed Co-active CTI Institute. Silvia is at her best when connecting with people; she gets inspired by socializing, listening to people’s stories, sharing experiences, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
