Alexia's KeyNote

By sharing her journey into motherhood, Alexia puts the spotlight on the still well-established taboo of pregnancy loss. Although it happens more frequently than most people would think, there is a persisting belief that such an event should not be talked about, since it is part of the invisible sphere. This leads to a sense of shame and guilt and is often associated with depression in women experiencing such invisible losses. With her vulnerable and empathetic way of connecting with her audience, she sheds light on the importance of breaking the cycle of stigma and shame, originating in the silence, and fuelling the taboo.

Her story of acceptance and resilience is not only inspiring to individuals, but also to organisations, who have never been more concerned than now about their employees’ mental health and well-being.
